Backyard Blooms Farmette
17/06/2026
The flowers are loving all the rain lately but, sadly, the deer are loving the flowers.
Despite my best efforts, deer pressure has become a significant challenge this season, with blooms and plants getting completely mowed down throughout the garden.
Besides making a sizable dent in my tulips this spring, they’ve eaten my ranunculus and anemones, hostas, sunflowers, phlox, roses, and some hydrangeas. I’ve *still* got zinnias, snapdragons, and some other sun-loving annuals growing but it will be a while before they’re blooming. Plus, I’m not 100% confident that the deer won’t give them a try. 🤞🏻
In light of this, I’m going to continue to hold-off on offering summer flower subscriptions until I can be confident that I’ll have the abundance and quality of blooms that I need to make multiple arrangements for subscribers.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of local flowers. 🌸🦌💐
