With my health returned, I’m feeling enthusiastic again and am excited to see what we create this year! Here is a piece from 2021 where my style really started to come together.

Hello my loves! Serious chat. It feels like the time to check in, moments before the exciting inundation of requests for Xmas windows! Every year I’m overwhelmed with eager beavers wanting to work with me and give me their hard earned cash. It’s so flattering and fun and I’m privileged to do something that the community can enjoy. It’s been five or six years now and I’m noticing a pattern with my health; the relentless two months of designing and then being outside in the cold keeps hitting me to the ground. Survivably so. Until last year. I know some of you know I was ill, but…it was more serious than I let on. I was hospitalised and nearly didn’t wake up. Now, I’m recovered, and happy, and ready to design for you! But I just need to make a couple of changes. Firstly, no last minute panic requests. I will have to close my books at a reasonable time or you can book for the following year! Secondly, I will be printing the designs onto stickers. They’re transparent, double sided, affordable and great quality. It will be exactly the same designs I do on the iPad, but instead of hand-painting onto your premises, we’ll be there with a water spray and ladder, and be out of your hair in no time! For reference, check out the Southend High School for Girls post, which is vinyl sticker, and look how wonderful it looks! (Although that’s an oil painting so we won’t be doing exactly that!) It does mean the process will be less profitable for me, but I have to make these adjustments so I can keep marching on and focus on my fine art painting, which you can follow and support at .art. 🌺 Madeira!🌸 I’ve worked with Sofia for many years and we got so excited to celebrate her Madeiran heritage, drawing from the vibrant Festa Da Flor held each spring, the stunning costumes and the delightful embroidery. I almost always ask to help me on this venue, and this time we had extra fun, designing the scarves on the day! They came out so cute! Sofia always lets me take my time, develop ideas until they’re ready and it’s such a pleasure each season. (I think the central character has her spirit 💛)
