Reflecting on the final unfoldings of the year before a studio pause for deep wintry rest~~
Thank you folks for keeping things real under the hot, hot sun a couple weeks ago. So many good connections were forged and I most definitely fell in love with a few oak trees along the way... while on the road our littles gathered acorns to turn into flour, so the magic is still unfolding 🌳🍂🐿💛
Next week, I’ll be opening shop at in Seattle!. The event is free of charge so please come by and see what us makers have been up to!!
I’ll be listing any unsold journals in the online shop in the following week and will give you all a heads up...
AND then it is time to give these hands a little rest. I’ll be taking a month off for downtime to connect more deeply with family and Nature.
Be well, my friends, and please remember the magic and medicine of slowing down this time of the year. Less can be more ✨✨✨

“They can but bringe horse to the water brinke / But horse may choose whether that horse will drinke.” —Narcissus, a play from 1602
You can find yourself a beautiful journal, the richest of inks, and a fine-nibbed pen, but what does it truly take for your words to flow?
Seriously inquiring 🧐 I often hear how about folks having a journal but unable to make the first mark in it for many reasons: doubt and lack of inspiration or simply being afraid to ruin the potential they sense within.
At one point in time, I found myself somewhat prolific with my writing —poetry, prose and loose daily reflections flowed from me on a weekly if not daily basis— and then I discovered bookbinding. Overtime, I acquired a library of my own making, but somewhere in between the stitches and folded signatures the inspiration to actually fill those pages dwindled. Oh dear irony.
It could be that my need for self-expression transferred forms, highly likely... but object creation does not satisfy the wild horse of the mind quite like writing does, at least for me. Perhaps this is just a portion of this deep-time story of mine.. a thirsty passage through dry riverbed territory, a pilgrimage through my own personal waning season.
All said, I share this in case you cloaked me in the romantic category of avid Writer. So I’m here to share that if you are feeling stuck or not yet struck, we’re wandering within the same landscape 🐾
If you’re with me and want to find your white horse out of the desert, I’m going to experiment with some tips via Stories over the next few months. So keep an eye open as I attempt to get over my own fear of marring the great Blank.

Every year I try to bring something new into my offerings. This year my efforts somehow multiplied⚡️⚡️⚡️🤷♀️
I bring you leather pouches for your writing accoutrements, a few new journal styles AND (my favorite) Botanical Ink~ all made ethically by hand in small batches in my home studio.
For now, the online shop is freshly stocked (finally, you’all are so patient) and from now until Dec 10, I’ll include a free mystery gift in each order along with free shipping to US Destinations ~Just a simple token of my gratitude for your support.
Happy wintering, my friends! May your minds and spirits be inspired to fill pages too long blank. May the unfolding darkness (in the North) be brilliant and kind to you ✨🍂✍🏼🦉
