Healing from emotional wounds isn’t easy, but it’s definitely possible. It’s a tough journey that demands strong intentions and active involvement from your whole self, plus support from people who get it—friends, family, therapists, and others. The key is consistent practice and staying awake and sober in your daily decisions, responding wisely when life throws unexpected challenges your way. The pain won’t vanish overnight, and the pull to fall into victimhood, hatred, resentment, and fear after disappointments will always be there. Healing takes time, so be patient with yourself and those close to you. As Maxime Lagacé says, “The more you care for your mental health, the more you realize how unnecessary and shallow other things are.”
