Each time the shelter door opened, Martin’s heart lifted.
Maybe this time, he thought — maybe they’ve come for me. 💔

But every time, he was led back to the same cold kennel.
Seven times chosen, seven times returned — all because he was “too old.”

He’s ten now — calm, kind, and full of quiet love.
His eyes still light up when someone kneels beside him.
His tail still moves, soft and slow, as if it refuses to give up.

People pass, their hands reaching for younger dogs.
No one looks long enough to see the heart beneath the gray.
Still, Martin waits — patiently, hopefully — for the day someone will say,
“You weren’t too old… you were always perfect.” ❤️
