I wrote this poem because saying her name matters. Renee Nicole Good was a living person, not a policy outcome or a statistic.
And, I refuse the language that makes her death feel distant or inevitable.

This piece comes from anger, grief, and the belief that silence is not neutral.
Silence participates.
This poem is meant to unsettle.
Comfort has allowed too much harm to go unchallenged, and I want my readers to feel the weight of what happens when systems value order over life.

This is not a call for violence, but a demand for conscience.
This piece is an insistence that no border, badge, or bureaucracy is more sacred than a human being.
