Coolbawn Road Productions and the Hibernian Cultural Centre are very pleased to announce that fiddle and banjo legend, John Carty will be in concert at the Hibernian Centre, 19 Temple Street, Worcester Massachusetts on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Joining John will be Scottish guitarist and singer Alan Murray. The concert will take place at 4:00 pm. Advance tickets are $20. Tickets at the door are $25.

Born in London, and now living in Co. Roscommon, fiddle and banjo player John Carty is one of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians.

In 2003 he was awarded the coveted title of TG4 Traditional Musician of the Year firmly establishing him among the elite in traditional music. He has recorded extensively and performs worldwide both as a solo player, in duets notably with the Chieftains Matt Molloy and as part of John Carty’s Festival Band, At the Racket and Patrick Street. John’s latest album releases include At Complete Ease with Michael McGoldrick, uilleann pipes and banjo and The Wavy Bow Collection with his son, James on fiddle. More recently John arranged the traditional music pieces in the highly acclaimed film Brooklyn and appeared in Oscar winning movie, The Banshees of Inisheerin. In addition, he has had roles in the movies Jimmy’s Hall; Swansong: The Story of Occi Byrne and the television series Obituary. For the last 20 years he has tutored at Limerick University’s World Academy of Music & Dance. In 2019 he was honoured to receive the Michael A. Guitarist, bouzouki player and singer Alan Murray hails from Glasgow, Scotland, where he grew up playing the whistle and later guitar. Eventually moving to United States, he has established himself as an in-demand performer and teacher on the traditional music scene. He has recorded and performed around the world with many of the finest traditional musicians and acts today, including Lunasa, Eileen Ivers, Battlefield Band, We Banjo 3, Seamus Egan, Four Winds, and many more

Coolbawn Road Productions, in conjunction with the Worcester Irish Cultural Festival Committee, is very pleased to announce a concert of Irish music on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 2 p.m. The concert will feature three members of the internationally acclaimed band Lúnasa, Cillian Vallely (uillean pipes), Kevin Crawford (flute) and Colin Farrell (fiddle). They will be joined by Galway singer/guitarist Dave Curley.

Kevin Crawford was a founding member of critically-acclaimed band, Moving Cloud and has also been involved in many other projects including ‘The Teetotallers’, a supergroup trio that also features Martin Hayes and John Doyle as well as 'The Drunken Gaugers’ with Dylan Foley & Worcester native, Patrick Doocey.

A native of Co. Armagh, Cillian Vallely grew up in a renowned traditional Irish music family. His parents Brian and Eithne Vallely founded the legendary Armagh Pipers’ Club, an organization that has fostered the revival of traditional music in the north of Ireland for over fifty years. In recent years, he has toured and recorded with Bruce Springsteen, Natalie Merchant, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Tim O’Brien, and Riverdance in addition to recording as a guest on over 70 albums. He released his highly acclaimed solo album “The Raven’s Rock” in 2016

Born in Manchester, England, into a musical family from Co. Galway and Co.Cavan, Colin Farrell is an award-winning and virtuosic fiddler and composer. He has made a name for himself performing and recording with an array of great musicians in Europe and the U.S., including groups such as Flook, Grada, Julie Fowlis, and The Michael McGoldrick Band. Colin’s 2010 solo album Make A Note, released in 2015, was awarded "Instrumental Album of the Year" by LiveIreland.

Dave Curley, a multi-instrumentalist, singer and dancer from Corofin, Co. Galway, has been making big waves in the Irish music scene in Ireland, Europe and the USA in the last number of years. After graduating from the University of Limerick’s groundbreaking Irish Music and Dance programme with a 1st class honours, Dave became a creative member of award-winning bands Slide and Runa. He also regularly performs with Grammy Award winner Moya Brennan of Clannad. His most recent record, 'A Brand New Day’, marks a new beginning in his musical career and showcases his vocals and writing style which has a contemporary sensibility whilst rooted in tradition.

Reserved tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite and are $25.00. Tickets will also be made available at Fiddler’s Green Pub on 19 Temple Street in Worcester in advance for $27.50. Tickets at the door will be $30.00. Tickets can also be purchased by calling Bud Sargent at (508) 868-7552.

The concert is to benefit the Worcester Irish Cultural Festival a 501(c)3 organization.
