This Newport home was design to be a vacation home for the a young family. We wanted to modernize the plan by opening up and rearranging the first floor to maximize the entertaining spaces. We removed the wall between the kitchen and the dining room to create an open plan space. We also enlarged the doorway from the foyer to the living room to improve the circulation and make the first floor feel larger. The goal of the 2nd & 3rd floor was to maximize the number bedrooms and sleeping areas. We combined 2 small bedrooms into one large bunk room with custom built in bunks. We also created a master suite on the 3rd floor with a luxurious master bathroom. The goal of the design was to make a light and colorful home inspired by the ocean.
