The Legal Kid Foundation

đź–¤ This was for you, Marva.
On February 26, we didn’t just host a mock trial — we carried your legacy forward.
You believed in this work before many others did.
You believed in our children — in their voices, their brilliance, and their right to be seen and heard. Because of you, The Legal Kid Foundation grew, reached further, and changed more lives.
And on this day, we saw it.
Students from across Wake County stood in a courtroom — confident, prepared, and unafraid to use their voice. Not just learning the law… but living it.
This moment was made possible in partnership with Campbell Law BLSA, the Campbell Law Educational Pro Bono Clinic, LexisNexis African Ancestry Network, and the Honorable Judge David Baker, Sr. — a community coming together to pour into the next generation, just like you always did.
Your impact was in every voice that spoke.
In every student who stood a little taller.
In every moment of courage we witnessed.
đź–¤ We felt you in that room.
⚖️ And we will continue this work in your honor. Always.

Mock trials at TLKF are more than role-play—they’re real opportunities for youth to practice public speaking, respect, and decision-making. Students learn to think on their feet while building communication and civic confidence.

If you could try any courtroom role—judge, lawyer, or juror—which would you choose?
TLKF students explore all roles to practice critical thinking, leadership, and decision-making in real-life scenarios.
