Thanks to the Genesis Foundation For Fitness & Tennis for bringing additional learning and fun to our summer latchkey programs. At seven sites across the district, students are enjoying an hour of hands-on enrichment followed by an hour of tennis instruction. From getting creative with crafts to learning the basics of the game on the court, these experiences are helping students stay active, build new skills, and try something new this summer.

Wichita Public Schools is proud to partner with the City of Wichita- Government, America 250, Visit Wichita, and Downtown Wichita to showcase the creativity of our fifth-grade students. Colorful banners designed by our students are now on display along Douglas Avenue and throughout downtown, capturing their unique perspectives of Wichita, Kansas, and the United States.

We’re also excited to share that Wichita High School East students are part of a national exhibition currently on display at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Their work, paper scrolls created during the National Scrollathon at Wichita State University's Ulrich Museum of Art, represents Kansas in a nationwide collaboration.

These projects highlight not only the talent of our students, but also the meaningful opportunities provided through our Fine Arts programs.

Wichita Public Schools is hiring sign language interpreters to join our Interpreting Services team. Educational interpreters play a vital role in our classrooms, helping deaf and hard-of-hearing students access instruction, participate in school activities, and reach their full potential.

If you are dedicated to supporting communication access and student achievement, we’d love to hear from you. To learn more or apply, visit usd259.org/careers.
