I first met Steven about 15 years ago at an art show. He was in Kansas recently to have dinner with friends in Wichita, and wanted to come by my art studio again. He collected two more paintings; he thinks these make his 11th and 12th. I’m very blessed to have met so many people over the years who connect with my paintings!
I’ll have several new paintings on display at the Ponca City Arts Fest this coming weekend at Cann Memorial Garden, 1500 E. Grand Ave. from 4 to 8 Friday, and 9 to 4 Saturday. If the weather becomes an issue, they have an indoor “Plan B”, and I’ll update on the new locaton if necessary.

I was honored to work with author Julie Ann Rose last year to paint two new book covers. These make the 4th and 5th book covers on which my paintings have appeared. Julie had specific and meaningful ideas for what the covers should be, and was instrumental in guiding me to create her vision. The first book is titled SOLD: The True Story of a Young Girl Trafficked in a Small Montana Town, and the second is Surprise Me God: Astonishing Your World with Christ's Love. The second is a daily devotional.
Julie has had a very successful private practice for the past 26 years as a trauma/pastoral/mental health counselor. She also helps those who need healing after bank robberies, suicides, and other traumatic loss and traumas. Her delight is to run towards people that have been placed in traumatic situations.
As a survivor of numerous traumatic circumstances herself, Julie’s story has been featured on various radio and television programs including: Of Faith and Family, Focus on the Family, Unshackled by Pacific Garden Missions, Moody Radio, The 700 Club (CBN), Christian Television Network (CTN), Life Today, Family Talk (Dr. James Dobson) and many more. On Dr. James Dobson’s Family Talk, Julie’s interview about Shattered & Restored was voted the “Dr. James Dobson’s Family Talk Best of 2016 Broadcast Series”.
