A landmark 2025 study from Stanford, published in Nature Communications, used brain imaging to track what happens inside the brains of children with dyslexia during an intensive reading intervention.

What they found: the Visual Word Form Area — the part of the brain responsible for recognizing words automatically — actually grew in the children who received the right kind of instruction. It became detectable in kids where it hadn't been before.

Not medication. Not accommodation. Instruction.

But here's what most parents aren't told: the intervention that produced these brain changes didn't just target phonological decoding. It targeted orthographic automaticity — the ability to rapidly see and store letter patterns in words. Most reading programs only address one side of this equation. The research shows the brain needs both.

That's exactly why the PTO Reconnect Protocol™ targets both the Parietal-Temporal AND the Occipital-Temporal pathways — the complete posterior reading circuit. Not half of it. All of it. Every day.

Your child's brain is not broken. The research is clear. The circuit can be built — with the right method, at the right frequency.
