You should prepare an emergency pet supply kit and have it readily available.

The kit should contain:
- A pet carrier for each animal
- Identification
- Immunization records
- Medication
- Supply of food and water
- A muzzle
- Collar and tags
- Leash
- Wee Wee Pads
