Two rounds of sanding, three coats of paint and three rounds of top-coat and this table and chairs is finally across the finish line!
I’m obsessed with this Solstice Green color by ! It’s such a soft natural blue/green but with the perfect amount of muted color. This table and chairs was a commission piece for a returning customer. It had been well loved and needed a fresh look. The topcoat was the perfect finish to give it a little extra durability. This table is going to be moving to an apartment where it will be used as the main family dining table hopefully for years to come!

This little hutch was a fun one!
It’s painted in beautiful Cinder by with a white interior. You seriously cannot go wrong with this true gray color! This piece is the perfect size for a small dining area or living room.
I went back and forth on whether to keep the lattice but I am so glad that I did! I love the contrast between the gray, white, dark wood and the gold hardware.

It all began a year ago….with a few carloads and a garage full of project pieces!
At the time I was looking for a sideboard for the dining room of my new house. I was disappointed to find that many of the new pieces I was considering seemed to be out of my budget and also poor quality. Sooo I went on a mission to buy a secondhand sideboard to refinish myself. I quickly fell in love with the process and the result! Today this is my favorite piece of furniture in my house.
A year ago I had also just finished repainting the interior of my house. I found that painting walls was strangely therapeutic and while I was happy to be done painting 6+ rooms I weirdly missed it.
For me it is much more then a paint brush and a piece of furniture. As a full time Clinical Social Worker, painting and refinished furniture has become a form of self-care. There is something so grounding about putting a putting a paint brush to wood and seeing the tangible results of your hard work.
Thank you to my Mom .u who pushed me to give this a try! She also never turns down an opportunity to head to a tag sale, flea market or estate sale. As a talented painter herself (of actual paintings haha) she also has an eye for color and interior design. She is the first person I consult with then I feel stuck on a color choice or while staging.
Thank you to my sweet and supportive husband who probably assumed that when we bought a house with a garage he would be able to use it 😂 instead he has allowed me to fill it with furniture and turn it into my little studio. He is a good sport and the literal muscle behind KJ Designs. He has attended flea markets in the pouring rain and has gotten up early on Saturdays to load and deliver furniture.
Thank you all for following along and supporting my furniture journey! I hope my story inspires you to try something new, practice self-care and lean into your creative side.
Here’s to another year and lots more furniture! I’ve got a few special projects coming up that I can’t wait to share. 🤍

I have a love for blue/grays so naturally “Eucalyptus” felt like the perfect color for this beautiful little table. The sweet details make this piece so special! This table is headed to a retuning customer. I can’t wait to see what it looks like in its new home! 🤍
