New payroll laws go into effect July 1, 2025

Here’s what you need to know:

✅ Minimum wage increases to $13.00/hour
✅ Exempt employee salaries must be at least $1,040/week
✅ Paid sick leave is now required for most employees
• 1 hour for every 30 hours worked
• Up to 40 or 56 hours/year depending on company size
• Must carry over year to year
• Applies to part-time and full-time workers

Now is the time to review or create a compliant sick leave policy and update your payroll system.
