It is said that the Inn is haunted by The Grey Lady, a friendly spirit who wanders the older parts the main building.

The historic Hunter's Inn on Exmoor was originally established in 1823 as a thatched cottage, serving as a local alehouse.
Unfortunately, in 1895, a devastating fire destroyed the original structure. Subsequently, Colonel Benjamin Greene Lake acquired the property and rebuilt it in 1906, in the fashionable Arts and Crafts style, reminiscent of a Swiss chalet. This architectural choice earned the area the nickname "Little Switzerland" .

Bamburgh Castle's King's Hall is one of its most striking and historic rooms.
