Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (a.k.a. drones) photography is a great resource for search and rescue/recovery operations. UAV's assists SAR teams to identify suspects, human remains, or other features associated with missing and/or endangered persons. UAV's now come equipped with thermal imaging cameras for identifying heat signatures and GPS to track areas searched and identify data gaps. It can be overwhelming when having to search a large area, but UAV's enable law enforcement to narrow down search areas, and more efficiently and effectively respond to such urgent, unfortunate events.
