A common mistake adults learning freestyle make.
When you drag your arm across the surface of the water instead of lifting high, it might feel like you’re swimming… but you’re actually working against the water and your own body.
That low, dragging motion pulls on your shoulder, strains your muscles, and kills your momentum. Over time, it can even cause injury. Leaving you sore, frustrated, and wondering why you can’t seem to glide smoothly like everyone else.
Here’s the fix:
Think high elbow. As your hand exits the water, lead with your elbow up and out, letting your fingertips skim just above the surface. That slight lift resets your balance, gives your shoulder a break, and helps your arm swing forward with ease.
When you find that rhythm, everything feels lighter. The water stops fighting you, and you start moving with purpose.

Have you ever experienced your edges getting wet or your hair drenched after getting out the pool?
Have you been on the hunt for 'THE' swim cap that will keep your hair 100% dry.
It doesn't truly exist. Many adults learning to swim have tried different methods like:
Doubling swim caps
Wearing a shower cap
and more
But they have not succeeded in keeping their hair 100% dry and if they do they may have a headache because of it being so tight.
The only way to make sure your hair is completely dry after time at the pool is to not put your head in the water in the first place.
If you're ready to learn skills to keep your hair dry and still enjoy the pool, register for swim lessons at the link in bio.
