Yesterday evening, I had the honor of capturing a pretty special moment for a pretty amazing guy.
For Harold Mohr's 100th birthday, his church, Word of Life Chapel, organized a parade down Second Street in front of his home in Bainbridge, Pennsylvania.
The local American Legion concluded the celebration by presenting Army Staff Sergeant Mohr with a blanket and challenge coin to honor his military service of more than six years, before and during World War II.
His has been a century of a life well lived and well loved.
Over the last several months, in collaboration with the Land Trust Alliance, I was again invited to travel the country and showcase some of the amazing land conservation work of some truly remarkable, passionate people. One result was this beaut of a short film showcasing Sonoma Land Trust and the awe inspiring Sonoma County, CA area. You should probably hit play and see for yourself.

Over the last decade, the little booklet on the left has seen me through a lot; mostly while bearing chew marks from a then brand new Halpert (my dog).
When I applied for it, I was still terrified of travel as a poor investment of my professional time. Since, my lens and my craft found new purpose in sharing the stories of those I’d come to know and love at the furthest reaches of the earth. From China, Kenya (7 times), Peru (5), Guatemala, Rwanda, Ghana, Australia, UAE, Brussels, Dominican Republic, Mexico and countless layovers in between it allowed me a new, beautiful understanding of the fullness of what and who’s out there. An understanding that fed directly into becoming a husband and a father.
It’s bittersweet to move on to a fresh set of pages, but oh, what new adventures await to fill them in the next 10 years. Let’s go. ✈️ 📸 🌎

When shooting a Video Vignette, capturing handheld video snippets between the primary duty of being the Still Photographer can be a bit of a crapshoot. They always come out amazing, but how much footage is usable or actually captures significant moments can vary. This one however... the stars seemed to align quite nicely. Give it a spin.
