It’s National Rebuilding Day! 🏡🔨

Today, you’ll see volunteers painting, repairing, building ramps and making homes safer, but behind every project is something much bigger. It’s about helping people remain in the homes they love, maintain independence and create a sense of stability that everyone deserves.

Stay connected with us on our socials as we highlight the many projects taking place today. 💚

Sandra has lived in her home for 25 years, experiencing different careers and caring for her mother through home hospice. After that chapter ended, she felt depleted. Soon after, her water heater failed, making everyday routines difficult. She couldn’t take warm showers or wash dishes properly. The situation felt overwhelming, especially when she was already worn out.

Thanks to Rebuilding Together Sandoval County, her water heater was repaired, significantly improving her life. “Getting hot water back literally changed my life,” she said, restoring comfort and ease that had been missing. As National Rebuilding Day approaches, stories like Sandra’s highlight how even small repairs can make a lasting difference.

National Rebuilding Day, 2004 📸

More than 20 years ago, this home got a second chance. The repairs made it safer, more livable and a place its residents could truly call home. Today, millions of families still live in homes that need critical repairs. National Rebuilding Month highlights the importance of continuing this work and expanding access to resources that help keep people safe and healthy in their homes.

You can be part of the impact, too! Visit https://rebuildingtogether.org/national-rebuilding-month-2026 to learn how you can volunteer, donate or support a local project this April 💚

Consider this a sign to fix that leaky showerhead. 🚿🔨

Did you know that a showerhead leaking just 10 drops per minute can waste more than 500 gallons of water each year? Leaks may seem minor, but over time they can add up. Fixing them early can save money, prevent damage and protect your home.
