DC isn’t a host city, but that hasn’t stopped us. Sports fans here still have plenty of places to catch the games, whether you’re going alone, with friends, or bringing the whole family. So here’s a full list of where to watch the World Cup this month, all the way through the final on July 19th. Save this list and send it to the friend who’s tagging along with you.
From sports bars packed with die-hard fans in Virginia. Neighborhood spots across DC with a game on every screen. Watch parties in Maryland that feel like a block party. Spanish-language broadcasts for the purists. Family-friendly setups where the kids can run around while you watch.
The options are genuinely everywhere — so I did the work for you.
And for the friend tagging along who’s just there for the vibes, I’ve got a World Cup 101 section just for you. Everything you need to know when you don’t actually know — what hydration breaks are for, what offside actually means, which teams to watch in your group, how long a match runs, all of it.

DC was like, “let’s keep museums open till 11pm” and I have never respected an institution more.
Solstice weekend turned the Mall into a different city last night: live jazz, a pop-up bar I was not expecting, Arts & Industries transforming into a nightclub and the Hirshhorn, well, being the Hirshhorn.
Good news: you have ONE more night to catch this. Museums are open late again tonight (Saturday) and Sunday brings family-friendly daytime programming at the Zoo. All free. No excuse not to go.
This is exactly the kind of “wait, DC does THAT?” moment I want every new resident to know about before they miss it.
Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you my free DC Summer Guide — all the can’t-miss stuff like this, sent straight to your inbox 🏛️☀️

You know you've really left New York City chaos behind when your drive home in Washington, DC looks like this.
Cruising down Pennsylvania Avenue SE, rolling past Peregrine Espresso and Eastern Market, catching glimpses of the Capitol dome glowing in the distance out the window.
Depending on the season, you're looking at amber and gold leaves lining the row houses in October, cherry blossoms exploding along the side streets in spring, or the Eastern Market farmers market spilling out onto 7th Street on a Saturday morning.
And honestly?
It's the small stuff that gets you. Waving to a neighbor you actually know by name. Passing Stanton Park on your evening walk. That exhale you didn't know you needed the moment you turn onto your block and see those beautiful brick facades lined up like they've been waiting for you.
This is what a commute feels like when you're living somewhere that actually fits your life.
