🌱I’m simping by the end of this book. I just need you to know.

The Throne of Glass series is so magical because is REALLY does get better with each book. SJM stepped it the f*ck up with this one.

Heir of Fire introduces you to new characters that are very important to the rest of the story. The plot continues to THICKEN and boyyyyy is it good. More pieces of the ‘mystery puzzle’ are starting to be put in place. You really get to understand why Celaena is the way she is and what happened during her childhood.

I love her and I would literally do anything the woman asked of me.

Favorite quotes:
⚜️ “You didn’t need a weapon at all when you were born one.”
⚜️ “We are the thirteen, from now until the darkness claims us.”
⚜️ “Rowan grinned. “There you are.” …🫡😅
⚜️ “Maybe we could find the way back together.”
⚜️ “You cannot pick and choose which parts of her to love.”
⚜️ “Who did that to you?” … 🥵🥵
⚜️ “To whatever end.”
⚜️ “I claim you, Rowan Whitehorn. I don’t care what you say and how much you protest. I claim you as my friend.”

⚜️ Book of the day: Crown of Midnight review!
YA Fantasy
1/5 Spice 🌶️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🌱 First of all - I LOVED THIS BOOK. I loved it even more reading it a second time. I’m having so much fun with this reread.

Crown of Midnight is where the main plot of the story is starting to unravel. There is still so much mystery and intrigue - what evil is in the glass castle? What is Celaena tasked with looking for? How can she handle being the king’s champion and assassin? Can she kill the people she grew up with? Can she help with the force of evil? Does she even want to?!

The romance.. 🙄 Chaol just isn’t it. I want to 🤮 every time Celaena has heart eyes over this man. I appreciate his character growth throughout the entire series but he is one of my least favorite characters in this book.

Dorian and Nehemia though? LOVE them.

Favorite quotes:
⚜️ “The best lies were always mixed with truth.”
⚜️ “The Fae lounged and danced and played music, content to bask in their immortality and ethereal beauty.” this sounds like a wonderful time.
⚜️ “If they let you out,” Kalyan said, both of them staring into the blackness of their prisions, “make sure that they’re punished someday. Every last one of them.”
⚜️ “I’ll come back,” she said quietly. “I’ll come back for you.”

🫧 what did you think of the ending? SUCH A GOOD SET UP FOR THE NEXT BOOK!!!!

⚜️ Book of the day: Throne of Glass review!
YA Fantasy

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🌱 The debut novel and start to a truly magical series. Depending on the order you choose to read this series, Throne of Glass could be your first introduction to our main character, Celaena Sarodthien. She is Prince Dorian of Adarlan’s chosen potential champion for the upcoming event to battle other chosen ones to become the King of Adarlan’s Champion - essentially his personal assassin. Celaena is to be trained and accompanied by the Royal Captain, Chaol Westfall.

This book is refreshing compared to the rest. The relationships between Celaena, Dorian, and Choal are fresh. The banter is playful - childish at times (the author wrote this when she was 16).

ToG walks you through the various trials, developing friendships, and a curious murder mystery.

I thoroughly enjoyed my reread of ToG. As the series progresses, it gets SO much better but it also gets MUCH darker. ToG is a great, playful introduction to the action packed series.

Favorite quotes:
⚜️ “She clutched her belly and bent over. Sometimes she hated being a woman.” so relatable, Celaena.
⚜️ “You could rattle the stars,” she whispered. “You could do anything, if only you dared. And deep down, you know it, too. That’s what scares you most.”
⚜️ “Sighing, Celaena called to her servants to draw her bath. An afternoon of reading on the balcony beckoned.” once again, so relatable, Celaena.

⚜️ who did you like more in ToG - Chaol or Dorian?

⚜️ Book of the day: Assassin’s Blade Review!
YA Fantasy
0/5 Spice

🌱 First things first - I love this book. If you are just getting into the Throne of Glass series and you aren’t sure when to read Assassin’s Blade… read it first. Trust me, it will hit you with such a greater emotional impact throughout the rest of the series if you read this book as a prequel (which it is).

AB is told in third person via Celaena Sardothien - 16-year-old assassin who was taken in by the King of the Assassins and head of the Royal Assassin’s Guild, Arobynn Hamel. Celaena is Arobynn’s protégé - viciously trained to kill anyone required. She works side by side with Sam Cortland, also part of the assassin’s keep. Sarah J Maas takes you through a gut-wrenching story of a 16- year-old girl trying to earn her right to freedom - something she hasn’t felt since she was a young child before her family was murdered.

AB will make you question Celaena but also fall in love with her character. I’m currently rereading ToG so I can confidently say that one thing I love about her is her strength and growth throughout the entire series. Reading AB first will allow you the ability to see what dangers she triumphed through as a young girl growing up, and the incredibly strong woman she becomes by the end of the series.

Favorite quotes:
⚜️ “Her beauty was a weapon - one she kept honed - but it could also be a vulnerability.”
⚜️ “If you can learn to endure pain, you can survive anything. Some people learn to embrace it - to love it. Some endure it through drowning it in sorrow, or by making themselves forget it. Others turn it into anger.”
⚜️ “My name is Sam Cortland… and I will not be afraid.”

Have you read Assasin’s Blade yet? How much did it destroy you? … because same 🥹
