Digitizing by Rachel

DPI (dots per inch) can be a tricky thing but it's important to know which you want to go with before you dive into your digitizing project.
Here are my standard recommendations:
For photos and albums, I recommend 600 DPI. This is our standard DPI level. It provides a high-quality scan while keeping your files easy to manage and cost low.
For slides and negatives, I recommend a minimum of 1200 DPI and up to 4800 DPI if you plan to enlarge and re-print the images. Since the originals for slides and negatives are so small, having a higher DPI allows you to enlarge the images further before they start to get blurry.
