It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Emily Barker, Class of 2005, who made the ultimate sacrifice while courageously battling a wildfire in Colorado this past weekend.

Emily dedicated her life to serving others with extraordinary courage, compassion, and selflessness. Her bravery in the face of danger is a powerful reflection of a life lived in service, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.

We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to Emily's family, friends, fellow firefighters, and all who are mourning this tremendous loss.

We also remember the two firefighters who gave their lives alongside Emily—Nick Hutcherson and Sydney Watson—and pray for the two crew members who were seriously injured as they continue their recovery.

May Emily rest in eternal peace. We are forever grateful for her courage, her service, and the example she leaves behind. She will always be a cherished member of the Regina family.

💙 Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.

As we prepare to celebrate Regina's 70th Jubilee and honor the extraordinary legacy of our founding Sisters, we're reminded that every generation has helped ensure the next could experience a Regina education.
