Fox for Judge
05/27/2026
Well, friends, it appears this particular train has arrived at a station different than the one we imagined.
Tonight did not end the way we hoped, but I leave this race enormously grateful for every Texan who still believes that character, experience, and service matter.
Statewide campaigns in Texas are peculiar little adventures. You travel thousands of miles, consume alarming amounts of coffee, lose sleep, gain perspective, and discover that the real treasure is not the election itself but the extraordinary people you met along the way.
To my supporters: thank you for your loyalty, your prayers, your humor, and your faith in me. To my opponent: congratulations, and may you serve Texas with wisdom and integrity.
And now, after many months on the road, I think I shall stay home with my family, sit quietly for a moment, and perhaps read the mountains of books that have been piling up on my nightstand.
With gratitude always,
Alison Fox

This Memorial Day, I am especially grateful for the legacy of service in my own family. I was blessed to have a father and grandfather who proudly defended our country and understood the true meaning of sacrifice, duty, and love of nation. Today, I honor them — and every brave man and woman who has served and continues to serve our country.
Because of their courage, we enjoy the freedoms and opportunities that make America so special. May we never take that sacrifice for granted.
God bless our military families, our veterans, and the United States of America. 🇺🇸

Being a prosecutor is not politics — it is public service.
Prosecutors work hand in hand with law enforcement and victims every single day. They help victims navigate some of the hardest moments of their lives, stand beside families seeking justice, and work closely with officers and investigators to protect communities and uphold the law.
It is a responsibility that requires integrity, compassion, toughness, and humility because the decisions made in a courtroom impact real people and real families. Prosecutors review evidence, protect constitutional rights, make difficult judgment calls, and ensure the law is applied fairly and ethically. A prosecutor’s duty is not simply to win cases — it is to do justice.
Texans should not be asked to put someone on the highest criminal court in this state who has never set foot in a criminal courtroom, never sought justice for a victim, and never worked side by side with law enforcement.
The Court of Criminal Appeals is not a place for on-the-job training. The decisions made there impact victims, public safety, constitutional rights, and the integrity of our justice system.
Serving as a prosecutor was one of the greatest honors of my legal career because it allowed me to serve my community, support victims, work alongside law enforcement, and uphold the rule of law every day.

Today at the Amarillo Republicans luncheon, Martha Washington spoke about how women have always quietly worked behind the scenes to keep families, communities, and institutions strong. That really resonated with me because so much of criminal appellate work happens behind the scenes — long hours, difficult records, and careful attention to the law to ensure justice is done right.
I was also asked why the criminal justice system takes so long. The answer is simple: these cases are complicated and incredibly important. Now imagine putting someone on the Court of Criminal Appeals who has never practiced this kind of law. Justice delayed becomes justice delayed even further when judges are learning on the job.
Texas deserves experience on day one.

When you hire someone for an important job, the first thing you ask about is experience.
You wouldn’t hire:
• A heart surgeon who has never performed surgery.
• A pilot who has never flown a plane.
• A firefighter who has never fought a fire.
• A CPA who has never filed taxes.
• An electrician who has never wired a house.
• A football coach who has never coached a game.
• A mechanic who has never worked on an engine.
• A police officer who has never worked a case.
• A roofer who has never climbed on a roof.
And Texans should not hire a judge for the highest criminal court in the state who has zero experience practicing Texas criminal law.
The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals is not a place for on-the-job training. It handles constitutional rights, criminal appeals, death penalty cases, actual innocence claims, and the final review of felony convictions across our state.
Experience matters. I’ve spent decades in the courtroom practicing criminal law as a prosecutor, defense attorney, appellate lawyer, and working inside the Court of Criminal Appeals itself. I’m ready on day one because I’ve already done the job.

My favorite jurist, Antonin Scalia, often defended the rights of criminal defendants when the Constitution required it, despite his conservative philosophy, because he believed judges must follow the law rather than public emotion. In fact, Scalia even argued that even a U.S. citizen accused of terrorism had constitutional rights and could not simply be detained indefinitely by the government without due process.
My opponent’s statement in this article says far more about him than it does about me. In America, every person is entitled to representation and due process under the law — even people accused of terrible crimes. That is not a radical belief; it is the foundation of our Constitution.
What he is really telling voters is that some people do not deserve legal representation, and that he is willing to decide guilt based on politics and association rather than facts and the rule of law. A judge — or someone seeking to be one — should believe in the presumption of innocence and equal justice for all, not guilt by association or mob politics.
That is the difference between us: I believe constitutional rights apply to everyone, because once we start deciding who deserves due process, we undermine the very system we are sworn to protect.
Vote for the REAL Constitutional Conservative: Alison Fox.
Court of Criminal Appeals Candidate Faces Criticism Over Event Hosted by Attorneys in ICE Attack Case Alison Fox called the criticism “ridiculous,” while opponent Thomas Smith argued the event raises concerns for Republican primary voters.

My opponent’s campaign has become nothing more than fearmongering and distraction politics. Instead of talking about qualifications, experience, or the actual work of the Court of Criminal Appeals, he’s resorted to desperate attack ads filled with falsehoods and guilt-by-association smears.
The truth is simple: this is all an attempt to distract voters from the facts: I have decades of Texas criminal law and appellate experience. He has NONE.
I’ve handled real cases involving victims, constitutional rights, actual innocence claims, and the death penalty. I’m prepared to serve on Day One.
And the attacks on my conservative values are especially shameful. My pro-life advocacy, my endorsements from pro-life organizations and conservative leaders, my faith, and the way my family lives speak far louder than any dishonest political messaging ever could.
Texans deserve integrity, honesty, experience, and judges who respect the rule of law — not mudslinging and manufactured outrage.
Make the choice based on truth, not fear.
