I am a Hispanic woman living in fear in a country that claims freedom as its core value.
I am afraid to leave my home, not because I’ve done anything wrong, but because my skin makes me a target.
I am afraid of being stopped, questioned, detained, or disappeared into a system built on cruelty instead of justice.
If I had children, I would fear for them too.
That they could be questioned.
That they could be taken.
That they could be used as bait to break families apart.
This is not safety.
This is not law and order.
This is terror state sanctioned and racially enforced.
Silence has protected this violence for too long. I have been silent long enough.
Fear has kept too many of us quiet, but fear is exactly what this system depends on.
We are not invisible.
We are not criminals.
We are human.
When we stand together, we are stronger than their intimidation, stronger than their lies, stronger than their cruelty.
Enough is enough.
No more fear.
No more silence.
