My smile hides a thousand words, but I’ll share a few with you.

Operating a business I never planned for has caused me to question its merit on more than one occasion. Few know my story, but I NEVER intended to start a meal prep business. I’m not what most would consider a cook and was not taught how to throw down in the kitchen. So when posting the food I made on Instagram and a failed bluff attempt turned into Prep Done Bright, I was shocked! To see this concept develop over the last 2 years gives me immense pride. I took nothing and turned it into a 6 figure a year grossing something. But still... I wasn’t content.

I later realized it was because I didn’t know MY why. I knew the perceived benefits of entrepreneurship; make money, flexible schedule, be my own boss... but all that is just surface and mainly fluff.

Not being clear on my WHY made what I was doing meaningless. If I felt I lacked purpose, how would I remain consistent in my business or be steadfast when I face adversity?

Simple answer. I wouldn’t.

That didn’t sit well with me. So, I began to think about my purpose. I took the time to write out exactly what I wanted out of life, entrepreneurship, and then slowly started making the changes necessary to be in alignment with my vision.

It’s so easy to get lost or forget why you started something. If you’ve read this far, this is your reminder to define your purpose. Make it clear and put action behind your words to get what you want out of life.

Have you ever come on IG full of energy and joy? Eager to see what's going on, check in with your tribe, maybe sn**ch some much-needed inspiration for your personal life or business? Only to close the app feeling COMPLETELY DRAINED?
It's because social media is an energy exchange. You are literally trading your time for whatever you've just consumed.
My only question, was it worth it?
Value your time by spending it more wisely.
What can I say about 2020 that hasn’t already been said? We’ve all experienced our own heartbreak at some point this year and while I’ve never been this anxious to start anew, I’ve reminded myself to count it all joy.
Not because life didn’t hurt but because of the courage it took to decide to live through it.
I am setting my intentions so high for 2021 that I won’t be easily discouraged. I’ll be too busy looking forward to what’s ahead of me and not at what’s happening to me.
Thank you to my PDB community for allowing me into your space and to the leaders (, , ) who’ve given me access to their own tribe. Every ounce of your trust is not taken for granted.
