This week, our Fite Plus One team partnered with and an incredible group of subcontractors to give back through the Parkway Park Work Day in Decatur. Together, we donated our time, materials, and effort to revitalize a local park that needed some TLC to better serve its community.

Work included installing new playground elements, benches, and landscaping, as well as completing site cleanup, seeding, and hands-on labor. This team demonstrated what’s possible when people come together with a shared purpose.

This project was especially meaningful to our teams working on the new Decatur Recreation Center at Wilson Morgan Park, who chose Parkway Park as an additional way to support the community they’re proud to serve.

A huge thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and made a difference. Your hard work will have a lasting impact for years to come 🌱

Last week, eight team members put their carpentry coursework to the test during a full day of hands-on training. Working in teams of three, they followed schematics to build sawhorses, a 16’ x 2’ concrete form, and a door blockout for a cast-in-place wall — then wrapped up the day by completing a detailed takeoff for a gazebo build.

Led by Chris Moreau and instructors Michael Wilbourn, Nathan Hand, and Triston Russell, the day was filled with teamwork, problem-solving, and real-world application.
