Final Victory Animal Rescue

โ ๏ธ Warning: Medical information and photos may be graphic and upsetting to some readers.
We do not post the details of every difficult case that comes through our doors. We aim to be transparent on social media while being mindful that the weight of these stories can be a lot to carry.
But today we are pulling back the curtains to share the overwhelming reality of some of the lives we are fighting for RIGHT NOW.
These animals demand extra time, resources, money, and grit, and they are so deserving. This type of caseload is not unusual for our rescue. We regularly prioritize at-risk dogs in shelters and those who need us most. When they achieve their final victories, we celebrate a little extra knowing how much it takes to get them home. ๐ช
Here are some current Final Victory animals requiring specialized care:
๐พ Tadpole arrived shut down, with overgrown nails and nearly no hair. She is responding to medical treatment and decompressing in her foster home, where her family plans to adopt her. โค๏ธ Her medical care estimate is $500.
๐พ Bern was illegally dumped at a SC shelter, severely matted, with open sores and lesions. She got an emergency groom and is now on antibiotics. We estimate it'll cost $500 in addition to the basics to get her ready for adoption. Charges are being pursued for those who dumped her.
๐พ Chance, not yet a year old, was found dumped in a crate on the side of a road with sores, wounds, and a broken front leg. A vet appointment today revealed that his leg is completely shattered, requiring amputation. His vet bill estimate is $1250.
๐พ Oswald the black cat arrived to a local shelter with a large neck wound that was not healing over the course of several weeks despite vet care. ๐ We pulled him to give him a better chance at healing and are working with our vet partners to remedy his skin issue. His needs have cost $800.
๐พ Hope + Victor, the poodle mixes, were trapped by our rescue partner For The Lovers Of Street Dogs Corp at a cemetery in Cayce. They were severely matted with serious skin issues. Their coats are some of the worst we have ever seen. We have removed more than TEN pounds of fur already as they await professional grooms. Their care will be an additional $500 each.
๐พ Nitro was found under a porch with a broken leg from a gunshot wound. After a successful amputation costing $1,200, he is recovering and awaiting heartworm treatment, which will be an additional $1,200.
๐พ Twisted Tea is a young kitten who was brought into a shelter with something wrapped tightly around her leg. It had cut off circulation so severely that her leg had to be amputated. This tri-pawed cutie is cat and dog friendly and being fostered by our kennel manager as she awaits adoption! Because surgery was completed before her arrival to us, her vetting through us was $250.
๐พ The TikTok litter was exposed to parvo and are fighting hard. Parvo is life-threatening and highly contagious. Two are hospitalized (estimated at $1,200 each in care) and four are being monitored in quarantine as our team executes strict protocols to protect them and the others in our care.
๐พ Hiccup was illegally abandoned on our property this week. A microchip revealed that he had been adopted from a local shelter a couple years ago. Sadly, he is in much worse condition than he was when adopted, needing approximately $350 in medical intervention to get him healthy again. He's emaciated and suffering from painful skin infections. He is now fostered by a volunteer who works with both organizations as we work to get him healed and find a family that will not let him down again.
๐พ Two litters, a pair, and a singleton kitten are suffering from Ringworm, a highly contagious fungal skin condition. They must be quarantined and receive medical intervention before being able to be adopted, extending their timelines in our care. Treatment is estimated at $350 each for these 15 cats. Much like parvo, this diagnosis also requires additional, careful work to prevent it from spreading.
๐พ Grub is a puppy who just came in today, emaciated with deep infected wounds from an attack. The severity of injuries is too graphic to share on social media. He will require sedation to clean the open wounds that became infested with bugs before he was found. His vetting estimate is $1,250
๐พ In addition to Nitro, we have taken in TWELVE dogs in the last month who are heartworm positive, requiring life-saving treatments that cost $500-1200 each. This is completely preventable, but unfortunately very common with strays and dogs who are not given preventatives.
That is 45 animals in our care at this time who require vetting far more expensive than their adoption fees cover. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization with no government funding to help us save these lives.
That is an estimated $27,950 in medical expenses above what adoption fees will cover once these cats + dogs are adoptedโผ๏ธ
We desperately need support to keep going. ๐ There are many, many more animals in need, but our kennels are full and our bank accounts are low.
Continuing to save animals like these is made largely possible by two groups of people:
๐ฉต Fosters give these animals a safe place to land as they heal or care for healthier animals, giving space for medical case animals to quarantine or rest at our facility.
Foster with us! We provide ALL supplies for fostered cats and dogs and desperately need the support and space.

๐ฉต Recurring donors let us say YES before every dollar is secured and move fast when animals need us.
Join "Team Final Victory" and become a recurring donor for as little as $5/month!

If fostering or donating is not an option, sharing our posts can make a life-saving difference. Our team works around the clock to give cats and dogs the lives they deserve, and we cannot do it without you.
We are grateful for EVERY form of support! ๐ซถ Thank you for helping us help them.

๐ Our facility is over-capacity and we are in dire need of foster help.
Crates are stacked into our office, kitchen, and bathroom. Kennels are tripled up with dogs. And cat towers are full. Community help is desperately needed.

Did you know?:
๐พ Our fosters range from age 18 to well into 80โs. We work with both fosters and adopters to carefully match our animals with the lifestyle, schedule, household, and preferences that fit both needs. Dogs, cats, AND people of ALL ages deserve to give/receive love from one another! ๐ซถ
๐พ Many of our fosters (and adopters) work full-time jobs! We encourage and appreciate crate training and never expect fosters to be with our animals 24/7. Decompressing in a home and receiving love when humans are home is preferable to sharing kennels and play yards with other dogs all day every day.
๐พ While we do have some dogs who have been with foster families for several months, we work with your schedule. We have short-term and long-term foster needs. If you are unable to foster until adoption or are going on vacation, we will work to find another foster or make a spot for your foster at our facility. You will never be โstuckโ with a FVAR foster animal.
๐พ Our rescue transport dogs and cats to adopters in the Northeast weekly. We often times have dogs who are adopted and awaiting transport. If you are worried about being a โfoster fail,โ we can match you up with a pet that already has an adopter lined up! Fail-proof!

269 days... and still waiting ๐
Meet Buffalo Bill, one of our most charming long-timers. He's a staff favorite, for sure!
This handsome boy came to us from a local shelter as a puppy with a fractured leg, and after some dedicated vet care and months of crate rest, he healed up completely and has been loving life ever since.
He is estimated to be around 1.5 years old now, which means he has spent a huge chunk of his young life waiting for his person, and that is something we are determined to change. ๐ซถ
Here is the thing about Buffalo Bill: he knows he is cute and he is not shy about it. He is the undisputed king of the head tilt, melting hearts on command, and somehow manages to be exceptionally photogenic even when it is not his turn for pictures. Catch him in the play yard and you will find him striking a pose, standing on the slide, a hay bale, or a chair... it's like he's showing off for a new adoption photo that'll finally catch someone's attention. ๐ฅน
Here's a little about him:
โ
affectionate sweetheart
โ
playful with people and other dogs
โ
loyal and loving
โ
great with kids
โ
friendly and happy-go-lucky
โ
Foster home experience including crate training and household manners
โ
Reduced adoption fee
โ
Ready to go!
We promised Buffalo Bill that the rest of his life would be the best of his life. Could that be with you? ๐ก
