The resurrection of Christ begs an important question..

If it weren’t for today, all the claims of Christ are meaningless and His followers are to be pitied. Why Jesus? Why believe him? He is more than the account of creation. He is more than a seeming answer to prophets that predicted His coming and His Crucifixion.

Today I want to ask the same question the religious leaders that persecuted Jesus asked both before and after his death: “What do we do with Jesus?”

As CS said, since we historically know that Jesus was real we are left with 3 options: Jesus was not and simply can not have been a “Great man.” Jesus is either a Liar, a Lunatic, or He is Lord. There is no other option. Jesus either lied to mankind saying He was Lord while knowing He was not thus making him a liar. Or Jesus truly believed he was Lord and was not, making Him a loon. Or, and the option I think today makes clear, Jesus was and is Lord.

He walked on earth claiming to be the Christ, the one sent to save us. He fulfilled testimonies given thousands of years before He existed as man. He was crucified in front of Romans and Jews. Then after 3 days and 2 nights He came back from death and appeared to over 400 people who were able to give a witness account.

Then this question was asked again by the Religious leaders: “What do we do with Jesus?” When other leaders of their time were killed, their followers dispersed and were no more. Yet Jesus followers only grew stronger after His death.

Today marks the day that Jesus words and death on our behalf were sealed when He rose from the dead. So I ask you the same question, knowing the truth of Jesus. What then do you make of Him? What do we do with Jesus?
