The Mount Dora Police Department would like to thank Walmart for their generous donation of a Bexley Box.
A Bexley Box contains comfort items and essential supplies for children experiencing traumatic or crisis situations. Filled with items such as stuffed animals, blankets, coloring books, fidget toys, snacks, diapers, and wipes, these boxes help our officers provide comfort and reassurance to children during difficult moments.
We are grateful for Walmart's generosity and continued support of our community. Donations like this help us better care for our youngest and most vulnerable residents.
Thank you for making a difference! ππ

ππ Monkey Business in Mount Dora! ππ
A rhesus macaque made an unexpected appearance at Lakeside Inn today, drawing plenty of attention from visitors and residents alike.
The monkey, believed to have originated from the Silver Springs area, was observed on the grounds of the historic hotel along Lake Dora.
While itβs certainly an unusual sight, officials remind everyone to keep a safe distance. Wild monkeys can carry diseases and should never be approached, touched, or fed.
If you happen to spot this unexpected visitor, enjoy the moment from afar and allow wildlife professionals to do their work.
