At HNDC 2025, we had the privilege of recognizing Dr. Yang Dao — a leader whose wisdom, love for community, and lifelong service remind us why our elders matter so deeply.

Too often, elders are labeled as “too slow” or “too much.” But we know the truth: elders are a blessing. They carry our history, guide our future, and continue to shape who we are as a community.

Their strength has supported generations before us — and their impact still lives on in each of us today.
