1. Prior to starting a downgrade, a trucker should be downshifting. This trucker clearly did not which lead to him not being able to slow down
2. This driver is driving 2 fast for conditions especially while fully loaded. This is a prime example of dangerous driving
3. The poor decision of this driver to drive this fast on a downgrade eliminated the possibility of HAVING A WAY OUT. If there was a vehicle on the shoulder this would have been a tragic accident.
The maneuver was more so stupidity than skill

This has poor implications for the transportation industry and everyday Americans.
The diesel reserve is the lowest it’s been in the US since 1951.
“Households in the Northeast who rely on heating oil for space heating will see 27% higher bills this winter compared to last winter, the EIA said in its Winter Fuels Outlook in October.”
The politics are killing us man. Looking like it’s about to be one of the coldest winters and I’m not talking about the temperature. Stay aware of the world outside of your world.

Trucking in America is an $800 billion dollar industry. Yet, in 2022 the spot market rates have decreased by 31% and contracts are expected to decrease as well.
What makes this even more devastating for the trucking industry are the rising costs to operate trucking companies regardless of fleet sizes.
Lower rates with higher costs are leading causes for a struggling industry
