It took 7.5ish hours from pulling out to completely setting up (mind you in the dark which is way harder), but we made it to Crystal Beach!!!! This is without a doubt my favorite beach (at least in Texas) and I can’t wait to share with with my Louisiana babies!!!!!

Yesterday was a big history day. We explored Gonzales and Goliad. I was proud of Amelia wanted to actually listen to all the things Chris was telling her.
We shifted the day. It started raining in the middle of the night and kept raining while we packed up. Since we were supposed to stay in Goliad off the San Antonio River we decided it would be safer to stay elsewhere. We found a hotel between corpus and Rockport and got more beach time. Most importantly we got to take really good showers!!!!

Palmetto State Park: I thought I was going to be underwhelmed with this park but I was pleasantly surprised. We are only spending 1 night and honestly I wish it was more. We will be back here!
We set up at the park and headed to Shiner for their July 4th celebration. We came back to the park with enough time for swimming and kayaking. Amelia took the kayak out by herself and she did so good. We ended the night with a yummy meal and hanging in the hammocks (the girls wanted to sleep in them but the rain kept that from happening).

I may be on my own adventure, but I am still helping clients book their own to Yellowstone.
I would love to help you book your next vacation!!!

We left Gruene and went to Garner. We stopped in Castroville to check out some French architecture. There is a trail to the river right by our campsite and it is a less popular area so we got some good alone time. After dinner of course we had to go to the Garner dance. The girls are already planning on going back!

Gruene: Gruene never disappoints. We got in on Thursday and went downtown and enjoyed The Grapevine. We had a great view of the river from our tent. Chris has class so we played in the water while he taught. Amelia went and played volleyball with the big kids while Daphne played in the sand.
We floated the river on Friday. I lost track of how many times I put on sunscreen but still managed to get really burned. I was in such pain that Chris agreed to go I to town and let me get my favorite meal at the Gristmill.
We were supposed to take the kayaks out Saturday but I was so burned we decided to take the canopy out to the water and relax. They were all calling me a vampire because I wouldn’t leave from under the canopy unless there was cloud cover haha. We ended the night at the Lazy L&L dance hall.
Overall it was a great time.
