Sanitation Debrief - Change the Oil!
A separator tech told us one of the biggest causes of premature bearing failure is customers waiting too long between oil changes. Old oil thickens up, plugs passages, and prevents proper lubrication to the top bearing.
For dairy plants and food processing facilities, preventative maintenance on separators can help reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

Bulk tank chemical leaks can create major sanitation and safety problems in food plants.

In this sanitation debrief, we found chemical sitting in secondary containment around bulk tanks during a plant audit. If ignored, tanks can actually begin to float and create an even bigger mess.

Sometimes troubleshooting means being willing to admit your first assumption was wrong. Watch this video, where Ryan makes a confession.

And yes… Jake made sure Ryan heard about it.

We’re excited to welcome Daniel Burch to the ChemServe team as our newest Field Technician.

At ChemServe, we know good service starts with good people. Daniel brings a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to do the job the right way. Those qualities matter in this industry.

As we continue serving food and beverage plants across the region, adding people who care about service, responsiveness, and helping customers solve problems is a big part of how we continue to grow.

Welcome aboard, Daniel.

May is Military appreciate month, and we’re honored to commemorate our close family, who embodied service in their military careers.

Jake, our Director of Field Services, has three close family members who served our country.

Jake’s Dad, Henry Vernon Hatcher was in the Airforce from 1969 to 1975 as a staff sergeant.

His grandfather, Henry Wayland "Hank" Hatcher proudly served his country in the Army from 1950 to 1952, and was stationed in Korea for 9 months.

Lastly, his uncle Patrick D. Norton 4 years and five months in the Army, was deployed in Desert Storm for four months.

We appreciate the sacrifice, commitment, and example set by those who have served and the families who stand beside them.

We would love to hear about your family members who served in the comments.

At ChemServe, serving others means something. May is Military Appreciate Month, and we’re honored to have some family members who served in our armed forces.

For Missy, our Office Administrator, it’s also personal. Her father, Col. Francis J. Koepf, served in the Army for 28 years through three wars and multiple military conflicts. During the first year of her parents’ marriage, there was a time when all her mother knew was that he was overseas, and in danger. With multiple generations of U.S. veterans in the family, Missy’s family has left a legacy of service.

We would love to hear about your family members who served in the comments.

At ChemServe, serve is part of our name. But today is about a different kind of service.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the men and women who not only served in our military, but gave their lives protecting our freedoms and way of life.

Service often means showing up when needed, putting others first, and carrying responsibility that many never see. From all of us at ChemServe, thank you to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Freedom was built by people willing to answer the call. We remember them today.

Late-night sanitation debrief. 🌙 During a routine monthly check, we found a system running well below concentration. On the surface it looked like a chemical issue, but a few questions and some digging told a different story.
Sometimes the reading isn’t the problem. It’s just the symptom. That’s why troubleshooting starts with asking the right questions.

Quick sanitation debrief, where we had to solve where the mystery leak was coming from.

Small leaks can create bigger problems over time if they go unnoticed. The key is slowing down, paying attention, and following the clues.
This one turned into a good reminder that details matter.

Quick sanitation debrief from today.

We got a call, turns out a plant’s chemical system dumped an entire drum of chemical into a tank. Before we even got on-site, we started asking one simple question: What changed?

Sometimes troubleshooting starts there, asking the right questions.
