Let's be honest, most of Kentucky's wooded areas are overgrown with briars, choked out by invasive honeysuckle, and littered with dead and downed trees. Walking through your woods is nearly impossible, and staring at a rotten log graveyard in the winter isn't fun.

If you want to clean up your woods and enjoy the shaded canopies in your backyard, Zippy TreeWorks has got you covered! We can help you by:

- Uprooting invasive honeysuckle
- Hauling away deadfalls
- Carefully felling dead trees
- Thinning out undesirable species
- And more!

We offer competitive daily rate options, or per project pricing. Call or text us at 859-419-4779 to get a quote!

Oak trimming season is coming to an end! Although most trees are okay with being trimmed throughout the year, Oaks are the least tolerant of significant pruning during warmer weather.

If you have Oaks you need trimmed, the cold season is the best time to minimize stress on Oaks and reduce pest and disease exposure. We typically wind down Oak trimming in March as we switch to trimming Maples!

As always, you can expect us to deliver the meticulous cleanup our customers love us for! Reach out via our website or text us at 859-419-4779!

If anyone needs snow clearing, we would be happy to help! We have a plow truck, salt spreader, skid steer, and a mini skid steer with a hydraulic-powered brush, which fully removes snow with no risk of damage to the concrete. Just text Ethan at 859-419-4779. We do both residential and commercial snow removal, including subscriptions for either for those who want priority service.

It is extremely satisfying to do technical removals, especially with hardware and ropes that more than exceeds the requirements to complete the task at hand.

This pull was accomplished using a 35,000 pound break strength rope tied to the tree, with the other end tied to a progress capture mechanical advantage system. That system acts as a 4 to 1 multiplier on the pull force the mini skid steer is applying, giving it the capacity to pull around 10,000 pounds, with no risk of the progress being lost if the machine stalls or slips.

At Zippy TreeWorks we tackle all of our removals with care and precision. We have insurance, but we have never had to use it. When you hire us you can rest easy knowing things will be done safely.

Stump Grinding creates a lot of loose debris! During the grinding process it is common for a stump to produce enough grindings to create a pile 5-10 times larger than the stump was. The bigger the stump, the larger the mound!

On smaller stumps it isn't such a big deal, since most homeowners can just shovel some of the excess wood chips and dirt mixture into their trash can. Once the stump gets past 20" though, you might have to fill your trash can a few times!

Zippy TreeWorks offers disposal with our stump grinding service for an additional fee, we just need to know ahead of time so we can bring the appropriate equipment!

As you can see in the first picture, we used our mini skid to remove a mountain of grindings from a huge poplar stump. The debris filled the front half of our 14 foot dump trailer! The second picture shows a relatively small mound only 3 feet across that came from a 12 inch stump.

This is why you should not top your trees. This Maple was topped years ago to reduce the canopy size. The problem is when you cut large diameter limbs they just rot out.

It was so rotted that the 43" diameter trunk had over a 24" hole in the middle. The only green that was left on this tree was from 2 small branches and a bunch of vines.

Playing hide and seek with a chainsaw running isn't a very good strategy...

Did you know Arborvitae could get this big? Usually when people think of Arborvitae they picture them about 3-4 feet wide and 10-14 feet tall.

Certain varieties can grow quite large if all of the right factors are in place. Good sunlight on all sides, well draining soil with plenty of water, and a large hole when planting are the most important.
