Did you know that it is beneficial for a child entering kindergarten to be able to write their name independently or by using an example? A good way to practice this is by letting the child trace their name at first. (If your child is having difficulty holding a pencil correctly, try using a shorter pencil)✏️

Did you know that a child entering kindergarten should be able to draw a picture and tell a story about it? So have some fun with a blank piece of paper and your child’s imagination!

Today is the first day of our new fiscal year, which is the perfect opportunity to brag on out Parents As Teachers Program. This year we have 2 full time staff members and 1 part time staff member. We served a total of 24 families and completed 582 home visits. In the spring, we are required to have the families complete anonymous satisfaction surveys. The report is shown below.
We do have a couple of spots available for this year, if your family is interested in being a part of our program.

Did you know that a child entering 5-year-old kindergarten should be able to count in sequence up to 20? He/she should also be able to count up to 10 objects, using one number for each. Make this a fun activity to practice (counting a bowl full of grapes, counting pieces of cereal, counting steps, and other items that are interesting to your child) 😀
