Just so folks who are interested. To remove a city judge can be done by a 2/3 vote of city council or 4 votes of no confidence. Also if malfeasance or illegal acts are accused , the judge must have them made in writing and be given time to respond a defense. A majority are again required to remove. Lastly the court can be closed by the city council but it cannot take effect til the end of the then current judges term of office.
Per Tx Govt Code
If none of these occured then the judge is still the judge.
Also if a city agenda lists removal of a judge and that fails the 4 vote rule if the presiding officer switches during meeting to doing away with court without posting it on an agenda with proper notice, it may be an illegal act.
