Helpless Hounds

Tobey is out of time.
He's been on our wait list for 5 weeks. Five weeks of us trying to find him a foster, an adopter, anyone. And now the clock has run out- he's landed on the euthanasia list at the small rural shelter he's staying in, and his only crime was being patient in a place that doesn't reward it.
His story is short and stupid: his previous owner posted him for rehoming at 8 months, came up empty, and dumped him. He landed at a tiny shelter that's completely full- which is where the clock started. He's done nothing to earn the list he's on. He's fully vetted, healthy, crate trained, and about as friendly as they come: good with dogs, good with people, and playfully chases cats.
He's likely a redtick coonhound/red heeler mix, which on paper is a nose and a work ethic stapled together, and in person is a red, speckled, ridiculously cute, extremely photogenic puppy.
The only thing standing between Tobey and a future is a foster. We can take him into our program the moment we have somewhere to put him. No foster, no more Tobey- it really is that direct.

Meet Billy Bob – The Adoptable Hound of the Week
Billy Bob is smart, affectionate, and full of that young hound personality. He is approximately 11 months old and currently weighs 55 pound.
Billy Bob is house trained, crate trained, and knows his basics- sit, come, look, shake, and more. He walks well on a long leash, is friendly with other dogs, and greets people like he’s known them forever. He loves his bones, loves treats, and settles into home life easily.
Billy Bob does best being fed separately from other dogs, but otherwise he’s a happy, easygoing companion who just wants to be part of the action. The kind of dog who will follow you around, check in often, and then flop down nearby like he belongs there - because he does.
Billy Bob is located in the area of Tulsa, Oklahoma and is under the care of Helpless Hounds. Transportation can be arranged for an approved adopter. Please contact the rescue for further information.
Each week the CC team features a hound waiting for their furever home. Please share and thank you for your support.

True Blue is a ~3 year old bluetick coonhound who was found thin and on his own near a park and has spent the last four months showing the people around him exactly what they'd been missing.
True Blue is a lover. Calm and gentle with other dogs, absolutely devoted to kids- he's been around children from toddlers to teenagers and is reportedly best friends with his foster family's 11 year old. He's house trained, friendly with strangers, and his idea of a perfect afternoon probably involves a frozen peanut butter bone and a puzzle treat toy. He's a smart dog who likes to have something to do with his brain, which is honestly pretty relatable.
He does have a thing about storms- when the rain starts, Blue wants to be with his person, full stop. Cats are a no, and delivery drivers should probably just leave the package at the end of the driveway. Blue has some allergies that have been well managed with vet care, so his adopter will want to stay on top of that routine.
We promise, he's worth it.
Blue needs someone who'll be his person the way he's clearly ready to be theirs. Blue has a lot of love and nowhere to put it right now. That part seems easy to fix.
True Blue is currently in Tulsa, OK and can be fostered or adopted anywhere in the country.
