I am NOT a therapist who promotes therapy based solely on feelings. For healing and growth, the truth matters:

The Fallacy of Feelings: Why Truth Must Prevail
Let’s Talk About Feelings
• Feelings really are a gift. They make life richer, help us connect with others, and let us know when something’s up.
• Think of feelings as your internal gauges—they’re there to alert you when something needs your attention.
What Feelings Do for Us
• They’re like little signals, letting you know when something’s off or when there’s something to celebrate.
• Feelings help you relate to others, build relationships, and experience all the ups and downs of life.
But Here’s the Catch
• Feelings are just gauges—they’re not always right.
• Sometimes, those gauges get thrown off by misunderstandings, past experiences, or even just a bad day.
• If you only listen to your feelings, you might end up:
o Making decisions you regret
o Thinking things that aren’t true
o Leaving problems unsolved
A Word of Caution
• Misusing fickle feelings can be dangerous.
• If you let your feelings run the show without checking the facts, you risk building your mindset—and even your life—on lies and delusions.
• This can lead to self-deception, wasted time, and missed opportunities for real growth and happiness.
Why Truth Matters
• The truth is solid—feelings can be slippery.
• If you act on feelings without checking the facts, you might waste time or energy chasing the wrong things.
• Real solutions come from looking for what’s actually true, not just what you feel in the moment.
Bringing It All Together
• Use your feelings as a starting point—they’re great for showing you where to look.
• But don’t stop there! Mix in some logic, reason, and a bit of gut instinct.
o Look at the facts.
o Think through your options.
o Trust your intuition, but double-check it.
• When you do this, you’ll enjoy life more, make better decisions, and find the real gift: living in truth.
Practical Tips for Everyday Life
• Pause and Reflect: When a strong feeling hits, take a moment before reacting. Ask yourself, “Is this feeling based on facts, or assumptions?”
• Write It Down: Journaling can help you sort out what you’re feeling and why. Sometimes, seeing it on paper brings clarity.
• Talk It Out: Share your feelings with a trusted friend or family member. Getting another perspective can help you see the truth more clearly.
• Check the Facts: Before making a decision, ask yourself, “What do I actually know?” Separate feelings from facts.
• Use Logic and Reason: Make a simple pros and cons list when faced with a tough choice. It helps balance emotion with reason.
• Trust Your Gut—But Verify: Sometimes your instincts are right, but it’s always smart to look for evidence before acting.
• Practice Mindfulness: Being present helps you notice your feelings without letting them take over.
Wrapping Up
• Feelings matter, but they need to be balanced with clear thinking and honest reflection.
• Otherwise, you risk wasting time, living in delusion, and missing out on real growth.
