At Johns Hopkins, therapeutic music is used to address a wide range of physical, emotional, and cognitive needs for patients, some of whom are in critical periods of recovery. It not only helps the patients (through pain reduction, anxiety management and mood elevation) but can ease the stress of family members during hospital stays with loved ones.

Take a moment to read and reflect on this moving Johns Hopkins Magazine article featuring Jamie Shegogue, LPMT, MT-BC, critical care music therapist at the Children's Center, and Kerry Devlin, PhD, LPMT, MT-BC, senior music therapist in Johns Hopkins Hospital's neurology and critical care units.
