Training above the rest. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ

DCFR firefighters recently conducted Roof Ventilation Training in Brookhaven, developing critical skills used during structure fire operations. Proper ventilation can improve interior conditions, increase visibility, and support firefighter and occupant safety. Continuous training ensures our crews are prepared when every second counts.

Did you know that immediate CPR can double or triple a person's chance of survival after sudden cardiac arrest? โค๏ธ๐Ÿฉบ

For National CPR and AED Awareness Week, DeKalb County Fire Rescue wants to empower YOU to be a lifesaver. You don't need to be a medical professional to make a difference in an emergency. If you see someone suddenly collapse and become unresponsive, don't freezeโ€”take action:

๐Ÿ“ฑ Step 1: Call 911 immediately. Put the dispatcher on speakerphone so they can guide you.
๐Ÿคฒ Step 2: Start Hands-Only CPR. Push hard and fast in the center of the chest. Aim for 100-120 compressions per minute (pro tip: push to the beat of "Stayin' Alive").
โšก Step 3: Use an AED if available. Send a bystander to grab one, turn it on, and simply follow the voice prompts. It will tell you exactly what to do!
๐Ÿšจ The most important rule: Don't be afraid to help. Every single second counts, and ANY CPR is better than no CPR.

Save this post to keep these steps fresh in your mind, and share it with your friends and family to help us build a safer, more prepared community! ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ’ช

Recruit Class #1225 is looking sharp in their new helmets and custom helmet fronts. The glow-in-the-dark design helps improve visibility and safety during intense training evolutions and gives instructors a quick way to identify recruits while they're in full gear. Ready to learn.
