🌊 I was walking on a quiet beach on a cold, rainy morning when I started noticing small things scattered along the shoreline.
A Frisbee floating in the water.
Sand toys half buried in the tide line.
Garbage strewn along the edge of the sea.
At first it just looked like trash.
But the longer I walked, the more it began to feel like something deeper was being shown to me.
Not just what was there…
but what was missing.
💚 A relationship.
We tend to separate things into “nature” and “not nature.”
Forests and oceans… but not parking lots, factories, or cities.
And yet everything sits on the earth.
Everything is made of the same elements.
Earth. Water. Air. Fire.
It is only when we begin to draw a line between what is natural and what is not that something in us starts to break the connection.
The land becomes something to use rather than something we belong to.
Something to manage rather than something we are in relationship with.
🌎 In my newest blog, “The Detritus of Disconnection,” I explore what that beach revealed about how we relate to the places we live in, and what starts to shift when we remember that nothing is outside of nature.

✅ We’ve been conditioned to think our daily routines have to be elaborate. But when we treat our days like a checklist, they feel like a chore instead of a choice.
🕯️Drawing from Shamanic wisdom and Reiki energy, it seems to me that rituals are about the intention you bring, clearing space, and creating a container for aliveness.
💚 That is exactly why I write my weekly newsletter, “The Essential Pause,” a quiet space in your inbox dedicated to exploring under the surface of experience, attuning to deep peace, and living in the present moment.
To welcome you to our circle, I made a FREE 2-page guide: “Cultivating Personal Rituals.”
Inside, you’ll get:
🌿 The GROW Framework for your current season.
🌿 The 3-Step Rhythm for a meaningful practice.
🌿 A Step-by-Step Example of a quick morning grounding routine.

Lessons from a Broken Hose (and a Wet Face): 👇🏼💦😂
There was a time when a minor inconvenience would completely derail my gardening plans. If the hose didn’t work, the plants didn’t get water. Simple as that.
But as my connection to these plant beings has deepened, everything changed. This isn’t a chore on a to-do list anymore; it’s an active relationship with friends who rely on me. When a friend needs help, you don’t walk away just because the logistics get messy.
So, despite a broken connection, a face full of water, and several tedious trips with a watering can… this garden got watered. True connection means showing up, even when it’s messy. 🌿💚

The Attention Span Challenge: The Bonus Round. 🤫👇
No cuts. No transitions. And this time... no music. Just 15 seconds of a flower and the raw background sounds of nature.
Music gives our brains an emotional cue to follow. Stripping it away forces you to sit with absolute, unfiltered stillness.
Be honest:
• Did the silence make you want to swipe away instantly?
• Did your brain feel uncomfortable without a soundtrack?
If this felt like a struggle, it’s proof of how deeply we rely on artificial stimulation just to get through a few seconds of a video. Real life doesn’t have a background track or fast edits—and that’s exactly what makes it beautiful.
This concludes the challenge. Thank you for slowing down, tuning out the noise, and reclaiming your focus with me.
Drop your final thoughts below: Did the silence make it harder or easier for you? 👇
