New info for the Independence Day parade! We are asking folks to meet between 8:30 and 9 at A Street between 10th and 11th Streets. This is where we will set up for the parade! If you haven't registered, we would love you to do that so we have a count of who's marching with us: https://mobilize.us/s/ID4upE! But you can still join us even if you don't register.

Join our marching contingent to show our patriotism and love of our country! It is the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and we want to show up for that celebration as an advocate for what that critical document really means.
If you want to march with us and our banner, and maybe hand out candy, please sign up here: https://mobilize.us/s/ID4upE
We want to have a good headcount for how many we will have with us.
Bring your flags, your patriotic gear but no protest signs this time, please. We want the world to know that we love our country and want the best for it!
⏰Time: Saturday, July 4, 8:30am – 1pm PDT

Please like and share to get the word out! No more plutonium pits! No more nukes!

You can submit a comment before July 16th to the NNSA (National Nuclear Security Administration) regarding their draft PEIS (Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement) on their production of Plutonium Pits.

The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) shows in their report that building these new pits is unnecessary, expensive, and dangerous. These are NOT to replace old and aging plutonium pits or warheads. These are for NEW warheads to go on top of new ICBMs. And this is our last opportunity to speak out about it, to this administration, future administrations, and other audiences as well.

Our own Lawrence Livermore labs is involved through the design of warheads that will house the new pits, so this hits close to home.

If you want to send in a comment about your concerns about producing more plutonium pits, nuclear bombs, the environmental impact, the health impact, or anything else - even the budget impact, please start with one of the following links:

UCS' commenting toolkit:https://ucs-documents.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/nuclear-weapons/PEIS-toolkit.pdf

Registration for the 3 upcoming trainings: https://pitpeis.com/

For more scienctific info on this: https://www.ucs.org/resources/plutonium-pit-production -report-downloads

Thank you and let's get the word out - No more plutonium! No more nukes!

Did you know that the US is moving toward making more nuclear weapons? In 2018, the federal government ordered the production of at least 80 plutonium pits per year by 2030. A plutonium pit is the softball-sized bomb core that begins the chain reaction in every modern US thermonuclear weapon. And guess what! Our local Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is the lead lab for the development of the W87-1 nuclear warhead, which will sit on top of 250 planned NEW Sentinel Intercontinental ballistic missiles that will be housed in silos all across the country.

Please take 5 minutes to watch this video to learn more and then answer this question:

Do you believe we need more nuclear weapons?? Well if you don't or if, like me, you are devastated by the potential HORRENDOUS environmental impact that more nuclear material and waste will have on our beautiful Earth, then I have a bit of good news. WE can do something!

As part of a court case from 2024, there is a limited public comment time where we can submit comments against this effort and the government MUST respond to them. This is HUGE because they were going to just do it without any public oversight and now we have a small chance to stop it if we all work together.

The first step is to take a training on how to create a public comment. To do that, go to the link below and sign up for one of thehttps://pitpeis.com/ upcoming online trainings. I'm planning to do next Wednesday if anyone wants to join me.
