📢 NAGE and our union allies are calling on Secretary Collins to immediately restore collective bargaining rights for VA employees.
VA workers dedicate their lives to serving those who served us, and many are veterans themselves. Stripping their rights has driven staffing shortages, lowered morale, and harmed the care and services our veterans depend on.
It is time to respect the people who care for our heroes by restoring their voice at work. Restoring collective bargaining is how we protect the mission of the VA and ensure our veterans receive the care they deserve.
We are urging Secretary Collins to take immediate action to stand with workers, strengthen the VA, and ensure employees are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

As most of you know, in response to President Trump's March 27, 2025, Executive Order (EO) 14251: Exclusions from Federal Labor-Management Relations Program, that excluded certain federal agencies and agency subdivisions from the Federal Service Labor-Management Relations Statute, on August 6, 2025, VA announced the termination of collective bargaining agreements for most of VA's bargaining unit employees. On August 6, 2025, the Secretary terminated master collective bargaining agreements, and all amendments with the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE). As of today, August 8, 2025, all NAGE Local representatives have received their Order To Return To Duty and notice to clear out all personal belongings from their union offices.
Just know, NAGE Local R14-8 will not back down. We will continue to stand tall, stay strong, and fight for your bargaining rights.
