There is an evolutionary explanation; we start out buying what we can afford , eventually affording what we want, only to think we can create it ourselves… have you or someone you know started to make their own instruments, amplifiers or even hot rod wire pedals ? There is a community of support out there that typically meets a couple times a week. You’re not alone
Some habits are hard to break. Please take time to check in with the drummer in your life. A friendly smile, conversation, walk around the lake, and most likely a slightly uncomfortably long hug will take someone from the edge of buying a new .
Band room etiquette takes years to mature, and it’s important for the longevity of a group to practice patience, understanding, and grace. ❤️
You don’t get new drum heads every day, or even every year for that (b)matter (see, batter would have been a pun there).

Thank you again to the Chuck ! For being such a wonderful host . Thanks to everyone that came out on such a wonderful day. After 1.5 years of not playing live, it did feel like learning to ride again on an a bike without a seat but we managed. We’ll be back in August with more friends.
Ever only get creatively inspired when you get a new piece of gear ? …. Yeah, me neither
has had a number of benefits, but has also made some things more complicated.

Because it’s been a while, let’s just go into this with low expectations… we don’t want any of you complaining afterwards that we didn’t warn you.
I’d say we like to keep our set up very simple … no midi synchronized lighting to a backing track of frog farts. We don’t require any additional special equipment to “auto-tune” our symphonic voice instrument (although, it wouldn’t be the worst idea)…. Just three guys with a couple pieces of middle quality gear and insatiable hunger for ROCK !!
I have no idea why drummers are perpetually significantly early to shows ….
