Swanton Fire Cadet Program

We would like to say congratulations and happy birthday to (no longer cadet) Sierra! She has graduated from our program and now has the title of probationary firefighter. Sierra has been a positive influence on everyone in the firehouse and has set the bar high for the cadet program moving forward. We are proud to see you moving up and look forward to working alongside you.

Today Cadets Sierra and Elliot did some tool recognition, as well as responded to a simulated CO Alarm, which taught them the steps we take to recognize and mitigate this type of incident and how rapidly these environments change in the real world.

Our cadets have been hard at work training over the past few months on a wide variety of subjects ranging from tool familiarization to air packs, search and rescue, and vehicle extrication.

We are hoping to continue to expand our roster of cadets in the near future, as these young men and women are the next generation of Swanton firefighters.
