Today marks 5 years married to and what a wild 5 years it has been!
We spent the morning completing 's one- and five-year vision worksheets and found ourselves aligned in pretty much every category. It's such a blessing to have a partner I know I can count on and who is in step with me on this journey of business and life. Love you, wife!

🎒✏️📚 It was a big week for our family! Our son officially started pre-school, which came with some mixed emotions as any parent can understand!
🌈We are so happy to see our son growing up and becoming more independent, but of course, it's also bittersweet to watch our baby turn into a little boy with his own world to explore and learn from. 🤠
🌟 Being able to be present for these big milestones in our children's lives is a huge reason why we got into the life insurance business. We get to make our own schedule that allows for us to lean into what it means to raise the next generation. 🏫
If you have any advice for how we can make the most of this pre-school time, please share below! 🤗

Thanks to everyone who has wished me a happy “work anniversary” on LinkedIn! Your words of encouragement got me thinking and I wanted to share more about my journey these last two years!
August 2021: One year into not knowing what the future was for the first time and learning to identify as “dad. After 6+ months of 40ish applications per week and basically no job offers and very few interviews, I took the first option available. Four months into that, I knew it was not the future but I still didn’t know what was. After bonding with Jessica Volce over a past as accomplished Subway “sandwich artists” I went to and saw the possibility of the future unfurling before me.
But I didn’t know what to do with that. I passed my life insurance licensure exam on the first try thanks to Xcel and called Lauren to celebrate. Her midwife had just told her that our expected second baby could be born any moment and she wouldn’t be commuting back to work for some time. an infinite landscape of possibility spread before me in a manner that I had never seen nor knew could, but my focus was with my family and I had practiced that more than anything else over the last year.
August 2023: Lauren and I have unified on a path to a shared, desired dream for us as individuals, us as a married couple, and us as a family unit. While we are far short of the current set of goals, we are in the thick of stretching, growing, and being uncomfortable. We have created morning routines with time together and individually where we read Scripture and pray, listen to self-development books, exercise, and eat breakfast. Getting time together and with our kids where we get to grow has its own set of unique challenges, but we feel it is a great way to model as parents.
So today really caught me off guard and I am honestly not sure why today is my “work anniversary” on LinkedIn, but so it is. Two years ago, I had dropped 40lbs simply by getting onto a normal sleep schedule and leaving a lot of stress at a job almost a year before. Now that I actually prioritize my health, I have dropped another 30+lbs and do not own clothes that fit very well. And I haven’t really changed my wardrobe in 10 years :0 I have read more books in the last year than in any year previous in my life. I journal and actually try to work through my emotions, not suppress them. The man today is vastly different from two years ago and that gives me great hope for the future.
