Here we are at the finish line after a strenuous 50 hours getting this 2020 Mosaic Black Traverse back into shape. This paint had a host of defects from years of abuse from the previous owner. Scuffs, scrapes, nicks, dings, scratches, you name it, it had it.

After going over the paint with a fine tooth comb and ironing out most of the issues it was prep washed, panel wiped, and coated with a pro grade ceramic coating.

Scuffs on door handles and cups were addressed and corrected.

Upon completion of a comprehensive wash and decontamination process, the vehicle was brought inside for a detailed inspection of its paint.

The doors were found to be severely damaged, with scratches, scuffs, and other forms of abuse. Touch-up paint was applied to the major scratches and leveled out. Instead of pursuing a multi-step compounding process to address the remaining defects, it was determined that wet sanding all four doors and polishing them out would be a more efficient approach.

Documenting paint depth readings throughout the wet sanding procedure is crucial to safety and ensure a flawless finish.

Once the chassis has been thoroughly pressure washed, I move onto the engine bay. The hood liner is removed and the engine bay is foamed down with an all purpose cleaner before being scrubbed and rinsed.
