Kacie Smart is a passionate helper dedicated to developing intentional humans, organizations, and communities. She brings over 15 years of experience in behavioral health in her approach to leadership development and organizational health. She began her career as a direct care professional working in various settings including acute care, residential, recreational, and education which inspired her to become a therapist. As a clinician she continued to serve diverse populations across a range of settings. She found this work both rewarding and frustrating as organizational and systemic barriers dampened her impact and that of other providers on the front lines. Determined to address these issues she began her journey to become a business psychologist.

Holding a Ph.D. in Business Psychology from The Chicago School, Dr. Smart applies psychological principles to create effective leaders and high-performing teams. Her work as a consultant has been instrumental in driving transformational change in various organizations, emphasizing the integration of emotional intelligence and strategic thinking into organizational systems and structures. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Dr. Smart’s approach is uniquely empathetic yet results-oriented. Her journey from mental health counselor to strategic consultant demonstrates her commitment to addressing systemic barriers through transformative solutions. Her company, Smart Counseling Solutions, provides therapy, coaching, and consulting, to help others build their capacity for intentional presence in order to create healthy and resilient communities. Her vision is to enable individuals and organizations to create a better world through collective consciousness.

As a wife and mother, her family is the cornerstone of her motivation to achieve social change.

Her mantra is peace, prosperity, love and light. She is a creative connector that leans into both intuition and experience to be a changemaker.

My name is Nicole and I’m a local small business owner by the name DeeLish Sweets LLC. I started my business back in February of 2020 right before Covid, not knowing where it’ll take me but here I am. I am a self taught baker, born and raised here in St. Louis, Mo. I have always been passionate for baking and serving others in my community. I have been in preparation for many years before I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own baking business. After 4yrs I am proud to have gained the knowledge, experience and some satisfied loyal customers while on this journey! And for that I am grateful.

Being a mother of 2, was part of my motivation. I just wanted them to see firsthand that if you can put your mind to it than you can achieve great things, it just takes consistency, hard work and dedication. Now,DeeLish Sweets isn’t your typical bakery , but I can guarantee you that my baked goods are just as delicious or even better as the ones in your local bakery. You just can’t go wrong when you love what you do and put your heart into it!

My specialty are cupcakes but I’ve extended my skills and can also whip up delicious gourmet cakes, cookies, cake pops, brownies, pies, cheesecakes, tiramisu, & I even specialize in custom designed cakes tailor made for your special occasions!

My goal is to someday own my own storefront to spread sweet deliciousness here in my community on a larger scale, but for now I’ll continue to focus on perfecting my craft and to all that is DeeLish Sweet!

Garrett Augustus Morgan produced a series of successful inventions in the beginning of the 20th Century.
Morgan's first well-known invention was the safety hood, a forerunner of the gas mask. The hood was popularized during a tragic accident in Cleveland, Ohio. When 32 workers were trapped during a tunnel collapse under Lake Erie in 1916, rescuers were unable to reach them because smoke, dust and fumes blocked their way. Morgan and several volunteers using the masks were able to reach the trapped men and rescue several survivors.

In 1923, Morgan patented his best-known invention, the three-way traffic signal. As an early enthusiast of automobiles, Morgan quickly recognized the need for better traffic control on congested city streets. His signal was based on signs that signaled stop and go. He sold his patent rights for $40,000 to General Electric, which developed an electric version.

Born in Paris, Kentucky, Morgan settled in Cleveland as a young man. He was an advocate for racial equality, forming one of the first black fraternities in the country at Cleveland's Western Reserve University. As a self-educated black man he was concerned with the safety and welfare of his fellow citizens. He was honored as a pioneering citizen at the Emancipation Centennial Celebration in 1963.
